Danica Heidebrecht, M.Ed., Registered Psychologist

“Together, we create space for you to feel more at home in yourself.”

I see therapy as a space where you don’t have to hold everything on your own. My first priority is to create a relationship where you feel safe enough to bring your whole self — the messy, tender, and resilient parts alike.

I’ve been a psychologist in Calgary since 2007, supporting adults through stress, anxiety, shame, trauma, and the many transitions of life. What I’ve learned is that healing doesn’t come from quick fixes. It comes from slowing down, listening to what your nervous system is carrying, and gently creating new ways of relating to yourself and others.

My approach is integrative and relational. I draw from somatic, mindfulness, and attachment-based practices, but more than anything, I focus on the relationship we build together. I want you to feel seen, understood, and supported in ways that help you feel more grounded, connected, and alive.

I especially enjoy working with people who are reflective and ready for meaningful growth. Whether you’re navigating overwhelming emotions, complex trauma, or challenges in your relationships, we’ll work together to create space for change and healing. I also welcome conversations around making sense of transformative experiences — including insights from psychedelic journeys — and support you in integrating them in safe, grounded, and ethical ways.

Outside of therapy, I stay rooted through meditation, time in nature, and meaningful relationships with loved ones. These practices help me show up with authenticity and care for the people I work with.
